Breast Implant Illness (BII) Part 2

My explant surgery was scheduled for November 9, 2018 with Dr. Alperovich (he is on the approved list for surgeons who perform enbloc)
https://healingbreastimplantillness.com/explant-surgeons/ at Yale Hospital in New Haven, CT. I couldn’t wait to get these toxic things out of my body and start healing. The days were dragging by, I was miserable but the day finally arrived and my husband and I drove down the night before because surgery was at 7 am. Everything went very well, I was out of surgery in a couple of hours and upon waking up immediately felt a lightness and clear headedness that I hadn’t had in a very long time. And I noticed right away that my neck and shoulders didn’t hurt! We drove home that day with hope and relief. I took a couple of Percocet for the first two days for pain, but relied on Arnica tablets and Tylenol after that.

A few days after surgery, I still have my drains

I did great for the first two weeks, draining and recording my drain fluid output twice a day. After two weeks I went back to have the drains removed. What a relief! They are very annoying and sometimes tender. Later that night I felt some pain on my left side and by the next morning it was so bad that I couldn’t get out of bed without my husband’s help. It was red and swollen so I called the doctor. I went to the Yale ER with my Mother In Law, which was a fiasco I’ll leave out for another time. The doctor’s team decided to open up the wound, drain it, flush it and start me on IV antibiotics. This never worked because my veins are shot from my previous cancer and chemo so they kept blowing. A culture was grown to see what kind of infection it was and about 20 hours later the team told me it was a staph infection. So basically the IV antibiotics were a waste of time anyway because the correct one is Doxycycline which is in pill form. The next day I went home with my pills and a new wound I learned to pack and bandage myself. Two weeks later I was feeling great again.

One month after surgery my lips are healed and my inflammation is gone, along with clear skin

Ladies and gentlemen, breast implants are extremely toxic. They definitely are not sexy. Doctors will tell you they are perfectly safe but what they do not tell you is what will happen to them in a 98 degree body over time. Your body forms a hard capsule around them to protect you from the poisons inside. This is why when you have them removed you must do enbloc capsulectomy which is a procedure many doctors don’t know how to do or refuse to do. There is an approved list of surgeons for each state for this reason. If you leave the capsules in you will not get better because they hold all the poison in them.

The FDA just held hearings where many brave women spoke of their personal journey with BII.

The FDA admits that some breast implants can cause cancer but not BII which boggles my mind. Saline implants are no safer as they have a silicone outer shell and can collect mold in them. Breast implants are only meant to be in the body up to 10 years! Guess what? I was not told by my first plastic surgeon of any of the risks, side effects or that they would need to be replaced after decade. I should have done more research, of course but I trusted him. Here are some of them symptoms women have reported.

I don’t know about you, but my quality of life and health are worth more than anything including looking good in a bathing suit or clothes. I have come to the conclusion that if people don’t like me because of a physical attribute then they are not worth my time or energy anyway. The people that love me for who I am inside are the only ones that matter. My husband would rather have a happy, energetic and engaged wife than a zombie with foobs.

I am now recovering from a second (or the same) staph infection. I believe it was dormant in my body and when I hurt my intercostal rib muscles moving a large chair, the infection broke free again. I had to go through the same procedure again with the draining, packing, and antibiotics. I am feeling good now and hope to never have to deal with that again!

Detoxing the body is necessary for cleaning out all of the toxins. There are many different detox methods. Personally I have been drinking celery juice in the mornings and a few times a week drinking a green drink made from purified water, wheat grass, spirulina, spinach, one apple, one banana and a cup of frozen fruit. These give me unbelievable energy and clarity. The only symptom I have from detox so far is extremely itchy skin which makes sense considering the skin is the largest organ of the body and toxins will be excreted from it.

If you or anyone you know has breast implants I highly encourage you to check out https://healingbreastimplantillness.com/ and the Facebook page Nicole created which is a closed group. You have to ask to join and answer some questions before being approved. I truly believe that this page saved my life as thousands of other women have also stated. Thank you Nicole and all the fabulous, brave women who have gone before me on this wild ride. Much peace and love to you all!
